Junior High Students visited University of MT and learned about all of the opportunities this Montana Public School offers. They experienced the media lab, athletics, and visited the Planetarium. This college visit was sponsored by Gear Up MT.
Our 7th grade class traveled to Big Prairie, up Thompson River, for an over night camp out and some outdoor learning. Here a guest presenter from Bear Aware shared information regarding bears.
Mrs. Toyias and Mr. Padden took 8th graders on their annual Dam walk to the Thompson Falls Dam for a combined science and social studies lesson. They learned about the plants, animals, and the history of the dam and Thompson Falls.
Fifteen, 6th-8th grade students competed at Science Olympiad in Bozeman. They competed in events ranging from Anatomy and Physiology, Fossils, Forestry, Optics, Tower Building, Microbes, and Code Busters, to Experimental Design and several others. They placed 20th out of 37 teams overall. Eight of our sub teams placed in the top 20, with Wheeled Vehicle taking 11th and Human Anatomy taking 13th.

8th Grade students spent most of the day at the High School recently, for our Focus on the Freshmen event! During the day, they toured the high school, participated in a fun school-wide scavenger hunt, and got advice from a panel of upperclassmen. It was a fun welcome for the Class of 2028.
December may bring cold, but at the JH, it also brings Hot Chocolate Fridays. December at the JH is SUPER fun!

Mrs. Toyias is bringing back chess to the JH!! Day 1 and we have 17 students, so far, brushing up on their chess skills during lunchtime. What a way to start 2024!!

A few soon to be Freshmen scouted the halls of the High School for pieces of the scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt and other activities were all part of the Focus on the Freshmen celebration to welcome the Class of 2028 to the High School.
Several guest presenters shared information about both forest and fauna with the Class of 2029. What better place to learn this, than surrounded by it!

After a Promotional Parade leading from the Elementary Campus to the High School, the Class of 2028 and their families enjoyed a BBQ picnic in the park to celebrate this next step in their educational journey! High School here they come!
